Pattaya Fight Tournament – April 17, 2012

Pattaya will play host to some of the world’s toughest Muay Thai warriors when the Thai Fight tournament takes place on April 17th 2012.

The competition will be held at Bali Hai Pier and is set to be broadcast live on national TV in Thailand as competitors from around the globe engage in fierce yet skilled combat bouts.

Launched in 2010, Thai Fight is a sports entertainment event that is designed to raise the international profile of the renowned martial art, while demonstrating the important role it plays in Thai culture.

Consisting of 16 competitors, past tournaments have featured fighters from Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia as well as Thailand, including the likes of Frankie Giorgi, Jose Barradas, Fabio Pinca, Dongsu Kim and Kem Sitsongpeenong.

Welterweight and junior middleweight fighters are both invited to take part, with each of the two classes involving eight competitors representing their country.

Organisers are hoping that these tournaments will help audiences appreciate the beauty and power of the fighting style, as well as the need to preserve it in its original state.

Martial arts enthusiasts can choose from a comprehensive selection of Pattaya hotels at AsiaRooms.com, such as the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort.
